Start with creating a new picture. In the main menu select “File”, then “New”.
For this you will need Photoshop.
For this you will need Photoshop.
Enter the approximate size of picture. If you don’t know what size you will need you can press on “Print Screen” key in the Artisteer window to copy the picture of the template. Than you could open “Paint” (it is in “Start” -> “All programs” -> “Accessories” by pressing combination “Ctrl + v”. After you choose the “Selection tool” in the upper panel, you could select needed area on the picture and Paint will show the dimensions of the selection.
Returning to our just created picture. Don’t forget to use “Zoom tool” if you have a bad view.
So, let’s type the text. For that you need to use the “Horizontal Type Tool”. Just left click on the picture and drag it to the opposite corner.
You could change Font (green highlight), Font Style (red highlight), Font Size (blue highlight) and Anti-aliasing method of overlay (purple highlight).
Let’s proceed with styles. Ensure that the needed layer is selected.
After that click on “Layer” menu item -> “Layer style” -> “Gradient Overlay”.
Set “Opacity” (red highlight) to 50%. You can also change the following parameters: Reverse (green highlight), Style (blue highlight), Angle (purple highlight) and Scale (orange highlight). Play with these options. I am sure you will find some interesting values of these options.
Also you could use the “Color Overlay” to make colors of the title softer. Set “Opacity” to 40%. And of course, change the color.
The finishing touch is “Drop Shadow”. Please, set the “Opacity” (red highlight) to 45%, “Distance” (green highlight) to 2px and “Size” (blue highlight) to 3px to make a good shadow. You can also try another values and options.
Then in the layers tab, click on the picture of eye in the layer “Background” (it will hide this layer on the common picture).
After that follow the “File” -> “Save As”.
And change the format to .png (this format supports transparency).
So, when you add this picture to the header of your template in Artisteer (click on “Header” tab and insert the “Image”), you could locate it in the needed place.
